The Markham-Nathan Fund for Social Justice serves grassroots social justice and peace groups in Western Massachusetts. The fund was created in 2009 by Northampton activist organizers Marty Nathan and Arky Markham, with their friends, in honor of their deceased husbands’ tireless devotion to building a better world. The MNF makes awards of up to $4000 to small activist organizations in Western Massachusetts that are dedicated to organizing and supporting the poor and powerless for a more just and peaceful world.
Since our founding, the Markham-Nathan Fund for Social Justice has distributed over $460,000 in grants. We solely depend on individual donations with all contributions going to our grantees. MNF is a Donor Advised Fund at the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts. Our fiscal sponsor is the Warren J. Plaut Charitable Trust, which is a 501c3 organization. All donations made to MNF are entitled to a tax deduction.
