“Redistro is so thankful for the Markham-Nathan Fund’s generous support of our operations. Redistro is a mutual aid collective with a focus on building community locally through the redistribution of our shared abundance. This grant will support our goals of community building and redistribution by helping us to upgrade our free store facilities and provide event support so that we can expand our offerings and deepen our networks, teaching more practical living skills and reaching new people.
With support from this grant, we will upgrade our facilities by developing a multifunctional workspace in the store for workshops, meetings, and art making. This space will act as an additional third space on the first floor of our building, which currently is only set up as the free store on the second floor. The funds will also go towards supplies and food for events at the store, workshops, our annual organizer retreat, and a community art project at our grand reopening in the spring.” Nina
