“The 12th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival: A Celebration of Native American Art, Music, and Cultures  will include outstanding presentations by well respected and honored Indigenous performers such as Mohawk elder Tom Porter and Nipmuck flute player and flute maker Hawk Henries. The gathering also features traditional artworks displayed by 40 outstanding traditional artists. This event is interesting to people of all ages and backgrounds, educational, fun, and uplifting.  It is a celebration of the rich heritage of the Northeastern tribes at a place that was historically significant to them for millennia.

“Honoring Tom Porter and the White Roots of Peace” will be a celebration and expression of gratitude to Mohawk Elder Tom Porter and include the traditional dedication of a white pine Tree of Peace. Many honored Indigenous guests and others will be invited to take part in blessing the newly planted Tree of Peace for generations to come. Everyone will be invited to share a traditional tobacco offering as part of the ceremony.  The message of planting is to bring the teachings of the Peacemaker to the minds and hearts of all the people and the leaders.” Diane
